Topic:
Biogas: Waste Not, Want Not

Join the International Association of Nanotechnology and the Clean Tech Institute on Thursday, October 9 to find out about PG&E’s current efforts involving renewable natural gas projects using dairy, agricultural or food waste.

Guest speaker Ken Brennan, PG&E Business Development Senior Project Manager, will discuss how his company is facilitating the implementation of anaerobic digestion projects on dairies and transporting the gas to their customers. Historically, onsite generation was the only application for biogas: The pipeline injection model is a fairly new concept in the United States.

Kenneth Brennan is a Senior Project Manager in PG&E’s Gas Transmission and Distribution group. Prior to his current position, he worked with PG&E for five years as a regulatory analyst focusing on natural gas market structure, rates and tariffs, various rulemakings and complaint cases, and pipeline interconnection issues in numerous proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission. In his current position in Business Development, Mr. Brennan is responsible for the facilitation and management of biomethane-to-pipeline injection projects in Northern and Central California.

IANANO will also present a brief overview of its clean tech/nanotech training programs and resources. Cost is $10/non-members; free to members. The Nano Lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and will be held at IANANO headquarters, 1290 Parkmoor Ave., San Jose, CA 95126. A light lunch will be served and networking will take place before and after the presentations.

Registration: $10 for non-IANANO members; free to members.
